Nervous about driving on the left? Don't be! We break down the rules of the road in Turks and Caicos, from mastering roundabouts to understanding island etiquette.
The #1 question we get from our guests is: "How hard is it to drive on the left?" The answer? It’s easier than you think! At TCI Bookings, we want you to feel like a local from the moment you leave the airport.
1. "Think Left" The most important rule is to keep left. Most of our rental cars have the steering wheel on the left side (like in the US), which actually helps you keep a safe distance from the edge of the road.
2. Master the Roundabouts Providenciales loves a roundabout! Remember: Give way to traffic coming from your right. If you aren't sure which exit to take, just stay in the circle and go around again—it happens to the best of us!
3. Island Speed & Etiquette The pace of life here is slow, and the driving should be too. The maximum speed limit is generally 40mph on the highway and 20mph in settled areas. If someone flashes their lights at you at a junction, they are usually being polite and letting you out. Give them a wave!
4. Why TCI Bookings is Your Safety Net Every car on our platform is inspected for safety. Plus, our Cushion of Protection includes 24/7 roadside assistance. Whether you have a flat tire or just need directions, our local team is always ready to help.
